A review of The Goldberry Arms by Gladiola written on Monday 17th of April 2017
Visited this bar for lunch on quite a few occasions and found the food quite good and to be of good value and ample portion.
However, on last visit 5th April, my husband, I and 2 friends visited and to be honest, were quite disappointed. Myself and a friend ordered steak pie and my other friend ordered chicken thighs (note thighs were advertised in plural). Husband ordered fish which he enjoyed. However, chicken thighs when served, turned out to be 1 small thigh. We did remark on this, but didn't complain. We did complain however, about the steak pie as meat was tough and pastry could not be cut. I actually lifted pastry with my fingers to try to eat it. My friend just gave up trying. Noticed a gentleman at another table having the same trouble.
We did get a reduction by not having to pay for 1 of the steak pies.
Think we will find alternative place for lunch in future..
